As a church school, RE is a fundamental part of our curriculum and is taught throughout the school.

Through RE, we aim to develop the social, moral and spiritual aspects of childrens’ learning and thinking. Children are encouraged to develop a positive and tolerant attitude towards others, including those of different faiths or cultures. While developing our children’s understanding of their Christian heritage and traditions, we also aim to encourage and develop in them an interest in and tolerance of the beliefs and cultures of others.

Our Long Term Plan for RE, and our teaching of RE, is based around the new North Yorkshire Agreed Syllabus for R.E.
