At Burnt Yates C E Primary School we value PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) along with SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) very highly and we timetable these lessons for all classes on a weekly basis. We also cover aspects of both of these subjects through our daily Act of Worship. SEAL topics are developed each term and are introduced during a whole school assembly. The SEAL topic is then revisited on a weekly basis through assembly stories. We follow the non -statutory guidance for PSHE within the National Curriculum.

We feel it is vital that a child’s emotional health is developed and nurtured in order for other areas of the curriculum to be enhanced and we run a weekly Nurture Group, based on SEAL principles, for some of our most vulnerable learners.
