There is a strong tradition of music at Burnt Yates C E School.  We believe that music is a very important aspect of our curriculum and we aim to foster pupils’ sensitivity to and enjoyment of music through a variety of individual, group and whole class activities.

Music is taught from Reception. This is augmented by visiting musicians, extra-curricular activities, including singing in Worship. We value every child’s contribution towards music in our school and children are actively encouraged to play instruments or sing at our end of term worship and to take part in our concerts. Our musicians are also encouraged to play regularly as a contribution towards our daily act of Worship.

Our children and parents are regularly reminded of the opportunities for musical instrument tuition.
