Through Geography, children at Burnt Yates C E Primary School learn about places, the human and physical processes that shape them and the people who live in them. Geography helps our children to gain a greater understanding of the world and the people who live in it. It also enables  our children to understand their place in the world from a local, national and global perspective.

In the Foundation Stage Geography is taught through an investigative and a topic approach during lessons on knowledge and understanding of the world.

As children progress through the school, Geography lessons follow the National Curriculum objectives and it is often taught through our topics.  Our older children are encouraged to learn through research projects, or cross curricular links with other subjects, as well as through discrete lessons.
